Beaverton, OR. — Official Release: Beaverton Police Department officers have arrested a suspect in connection with two armed robberies that occurred at Dotty’s gaming establishments in Tualatin and Beaverton.
The suspect, 28-year-old Marshall C. Richmond IV of Portland, was taken into custody early this morning following an investigation linking him to both incidents.
The first robbery took place on February 3, 2025, at approximately 12:10 a.m., at Dotty’s located at 19287 SW Martinazzi Ave. in Tualatin. Richmond entered the business armed with what appeared to be a handgun, ordered an employee to open the safe and register, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and lottery tickets. Tualatin police conducted an area search with a police K9 unit but were unable to locate the suspect. However, Tualatin police were able to obtain a description of the suspect from a witnesses and surveillance footage.
The second robbery occurred in Beaverton on February 4, 2025, at approximately 1:35 a.m., at Dotty’s located at 14304 SW Allen Blvd. Employees at the location, who had seen the suspects image from the prior robbery, identified Richmond as he came into their store to rob it, again armed with a handgun. This time however, employees were able to notify police while Richmond was still inside the Dotty’s location.
Officers were dispatched and arrived at the Beaverton Dotty’s location within minutes. Police patrol officers called out to Richmond as he left the store. Instead of obeying officer commands to surrender, Richmond fled on foot, still armed with a handgun. Officers, with the help of a police K9 unit, were able to locate Richmond and take him into custody.
Richmond, who was lodged in the Washington County Jail, is facing multiple charges, including two counts of Robbery in the First Degree. The case has been referred to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Investigators believe Richmond may be responsible for similar robberies in the Portland metro area.
