Portland, OR. – Official Release: The man shot and killed in the Lloyd District Neighborhood on July 28 has been identified as 45-year-old Jacob Forrest. Family has been notified of his death. They are requesting privacy at this time, but they did authorize the release of the attached photo.
The Medical Examiner determined Forrest died of homicide by gunshot wounds.

A man has died after a shooting in the Lloyd District Neighborhood.
On Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 6:02 a.m., Portland Police officers from North Precinct responded to a report of shots fired near Northeast 6th Avenue and Northeast Holladay Street. When they arrived they found an adult male deceased on the sidewalk.
The suspect or suspects left the scene before police arrived and no immediate arrests were made.
The Portland Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is investigating the shooting. During the investigation, Northeast Holladay Street is closed between Northeast Grand Avenue and Northeast 7th Avenue. TriMet service on Northeast Holladay Street is affected.
