Tillamook County, OR. – ODOT Alert: U.S. HWY 101 will remain closed for several hours Monday at milepost 41, about two miles north of Manzanita at the south end of Oswald West State Park, due to a landslide. ODOT crews are working to get at least one lane open so we can flag traffic past the slide and road crews. There is no estimate of when we can reopen the highway. There is no local detour available, so please use an alternate route or delay your trip.
U.S. 26 and OR 35 are an option for passenger cars and smaller commercial vehicles, but not for full-size commercial trucks. Also, please slow down and watch out for emergency responders if you are traveling near the area.
9:38 AM: One lane has reopened on U.S. 101 at milepost 41, about two miles north of Manzanita at the south end of Oswald West State Park. ODOT will flag traffic through a single lane while we continue work clearing debris from the landslide, which occurred early Monday morning. We expect to be flagging traffic all day Monday at least. Please expect delays and slow down and watch out for emergency responders.
