Washington Democrats and the media are out of step with the American people: they continue to ignore the crisis at the Southern border.
In border communities like Eagle Pass, Texas, thousands of illegal immigrants are crossing the border every day. In places far from the border such as New York City, Chicago, Massachusetts, and Washington, D.C., Democrat governors and mayors have declared states of emergency and are calling on President Biden to secure the border. Across America, fentanyl is poisoning and killing 300 Americans every day.
So, why aren’t President Biden, Congressional Democrats, and the media interested in covering the disaster on our Southern border that is impacting every community in our country?
Their latest spin comes as the Mayor of El Paso, a Democrat, says the city is at a “breaking point.”
Despite President Biden’s failure to stop the record number of illegal border crossings, a CNN reporter said this weekend, “the border is not open” and that any argument to the contrary is a “talking point.”
Democrat Congressman Hank Johnson of Georgia similarly said this week, illegal immigrants “are not crossing into the U.S. illegally. They’re sitting at the border seeking asylum.”
But 11,000 illegal crossings a day is not a talking point. It’s the record-breaking reality on our broken, porous border.
This is how bad things have become because Biden has chosen to leave our border wide open:
- In 2017, we averaged fewer than 25,000 border crossings per month.
- But in the past three days, there have been nearly 30,000 illegal border crossings.
The federal government needs to take immediate action to secure the border. The crisis cannot be ignored any longer.
This week, all politicians must go on the record. Will they vote to shut down the federal government? Or will they vote to shut down the border?
