
August 25 – Vote Vasquez: Multnomah County Prosecutor Nathan Vasquez Announces Run for District Attorney
Nathan Vasquez, Senior Deputy District Attorney for Multnomah County, officially announced his candidacy for Multnomah County District Attorney on Tuesday. Over the past two decades, Vasquez has successfully prosecuted over a thousand cases, consistently showing his dedication to victims and the community. Vasquez prosecutes some of the county’s most challenging and serious crimes, convicting repeat offenders, perpetrators of gun violence, members of the Proud Boys, murderers, and sexual predators. Vasquez has also been instrumental in helping children escape from abusive situations.
“As District Attorney, my goal is to foster both safety and compassion in Multnomah County,” Vasquez stated. “My policies will focus on supporting crime victims, revitalizing our neighborhoods, and addressing our drug issue with a firm, yet empathetic approach. I believe in the power of unity for community healing and for the betterment of our neighborhoods.”
Since 1999, Vasquez has been a resident and worker in Multnomah County, raising his two children here. He is passionate about community improvement, striving not only to restore safety in Multnomah County, but also to promote a mission of community engagement, compassionate accountability, and scientifically proven interventions to maintain the safety, health, and vitality of our neighborhoods.
Nathan Vasquez’s bid for District Attorney has already garnered notable endorsements, including support from the Portland Fire Fighters Association.
